A major part of NSBE’s mission is to develop academic support networks for undergraduate and graduate students pursuing degrees in engineering and the physical sciences. CTNSBE fulfills this mission by providing academic support for its NSBE members by developing innovative programs, workshops, and seminars to promote academic excellence. CTNSBE motivates our members to take advantage of all opportunities presented to them so they can thrive to their fullest potential.
On Friday September 16, 2016 the National Society of Black Engineers signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. This three year MOU sought to collaboratively pursue NSBE’s goal of graduating 10,000 African American engineers by 2025. Following suit, our chapter decided to implement biweekly study sessions with the Nu Psi Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.Students who attended the program were able to have a consistent and reliable place to study for various S.T.E.M. courses. Students also had the opportunity to receive help in their coursework from Nu Psi members, allowing them to connect with the members and see them embodying the mission of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
