The UConn National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) held its first Black Women in STEM Brunch on Saturday March 4, 2017. Sponsored by Stanley-Black & Decker, this brunch addressed the need for an increase of black women in STEM fields by encouraging and inspiring women of color to continue to pursue these degrees. The event also served as a way to help commemorate and acknowledge women of color who were trailblazers during both Black History Month and Women’s History Month.
