Major: Mechanical Engineering

Concentration: Design and Manufacturing

Hometown: Windsor, CT

What are your post graduation plans?
I am currently working at UTC Pratt & Whitney in the Manufacturing Engineering Development Program (MED) in East Hartford CT. While working at Pratt and Whitney, I am also serving as a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Army Reserves for a Quartermaster Unit.

How has your involvement in our NSBE Chapter impacted your time at UConn?
While at UConn, being apart of the NSBE EBoard helped me grow professionally and meet other minority engineers in my classes. This assisted me in developing a larger network. By going to NSBE Conventions with our chapter, this enabled me to get multiple internship experiences with top tier companies.

What is some advice that you would give current UConn NSBE Members?
If you are not willing to get a 30% on an exam and be able to bounce back from such academic adversity, then engineering might not be the thing for you. I learned more from my failures, then my successes.
